Wireless 2009 was one heck of a party, and possibly the best Wireless festival yet! Blessed by the rare but beautiful English summer weather, the festival kicked into action on Saturday with some great early sets, including a tent busting perfromance from Paul Oakenfold. The main stage hit fever pitch when Dizzee Rascal took to the stage, only to be followed by an equally outstanding performance from the mighty Basement Jaxx. London has never before heard so many raucous individuals screaming “Where’s Your Head At” at the top of their voices.
On Sunday, the atmosphere was electric, with large congregations gathering around the Tuborg Amp It Up video wall for some impromtu singing and dancing. The Noisettes, Calvin Harris, and an extraordinary performance from Britain’s Got Talent winners Diversity, set the tone for another great evening. With Lady Sovereign on the Tuborg Stage, Daniel Merriweather on the 2nd Stage, and Q-Tip warming up for Kanye West on the Main Stage the crowd was spoilt for choice and was not disappointed. Finnally the self proclaimed King of Hip Hop took to the stage and rattled off hit after hit in imperious fashion… a fitting end to a wonderful weekend of music.
If you were one of the many brilliant party people who came over and Amped It Up with us at Wireless, then see if you made it onto our Facebook gallery. We’ve saved a choice selection of the best photos from the festival onto our Facebook page, so see if you made it on and send to your mates for ultimate bragging rights! http://www.facebook.com/home.php?#/pages/Tuborg-AMP-IT-UP/95040951509?v=wall&viewas=619225284
